About the exhibition

A retrospective of Shadi Ghadirian at the Bibliothèque municipale de Lyon, presented in partnership with Silk Road Gallery. Curated by Sylvie Aznavourian and Anahita Ghabaian Etehadieh.

It was the first retrospective of the artist in France, shown from 8 October 2015 to 9 January 2016 in resonance with the 2015 Biennale de Lyon. It brought together series including Qajar (1998), Like Everyday (2001) and Nil Nil (2008), and gave the first showing of her video Too Loud a Solitude (2015).

The catalogue, Shadi Ghadirian: Rétrospective, was published by Somogy éditions d’art in 2015, with texts by Georges Képénékian, Gilles Eboli, Sylvie Aznavourian and Anahita Ghabaian Etehadieh. The catalogue at La Nouvelle Chambre Claire.
