The Enigmatic Fringe of Existence

2017–2019

When I look at abandoned buildings and old deserted mansions, I lose myself in thought, imagining the lives of those who once lived there: the joys and sorrows these walls shared with them, the splendid days and nights they witnessed.

These vague images of past lives lend the buildings a kind of lingering grandeur, as if those lives still went on inside them, with all their delights and regrets. Like the people who lived there, the buildings seem to long for their past, a time full of presence and life, and to miss those who once filled them.
