The butterfly is a symbol of metamorphosis, renewal and rebirth, and of purification. In this series, it stands for reincarnation, a glimpse of life beyond death. Working with old photographs, I look for my own identity and try to understand how my present life has been shaped by those who came before me, as if searching for a lost self in my earlier lives. Reincarnation then becomes a series of chances to live in this world again.
