For more than a decade, Golnaz Taheri has photographed the world around her with her mobile phone. Always at hand and unobtrusive, it lets her set aside the weight of the camera and come closer to ordinary life as it unfolds.
Her images show interiors: rooms, kitchens and living rooms, her own or those of others. She captures them as they are, without staging or embellishment. Tables set for a meal, bare walls, doors, windows, rugs, mirrors, lamps and beds fill these quiet spaces. No one appears in them, yet human presence is everywhere. The absence of people gives everyday objects a new weight, as each corner seems to hold the story of those who live there and of the time that passes.
Empty but never deserted, these silent, poetic interiors invite each viewer to bring their own memories and interpretation.
